Tribe Call 4 – It’s Neurochemical Time – Also Hear From Two Of Our Tribe

Ever wondered how to tap into your body’s own pharmacy to rev up your day? The answer lies in understanding the neurochemicals and hormones at your disposal, and how to activate them at will. In a recent Tribe Call, we dove into this fascinating topic, exploring how to ride these neurochemical waves for a day filled with energy and vitality.

This Tribe Call is part of the Eight Decisions community, a growing group of driven individuals all dedicated to optimizing both mind and body. It’s a weekly gathering held at 7 am central time, and it’s an opportunity for you to learn, grow, and connect.

During this call, we had the privilege of hearing from fellow tribe members who shared their personal experiences. One member discussed the benefits of participating in our eight-person group tribes, which are currently in trial. These small group dynamics offer unique support and guidance on your personal journey.

Awakening Your Neurochemicals:

You have a range of neurochemicals and hormones at your disposal, including norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin, and more. Knowing how to activate these can transform your daily energy levels.

Early Wake-Up:

Start your day early. Most of us are naturally designed to wake with the sunrise. This aligns your body’s energy with its natural rhythms.

Thought Awareness:

Take a few moments when you wake to become aware of your thoughts. Simply observe without judgment. This practice helps thoughts dissipate on their own.

Breathwork:

Breathwork is a powerful tool for activating various neurochemicals. It’s not just about oxygen but also about boosting dopamine, serotonin, adrenaline, and even nitric oxide, which has incredible health benefits.

Cold Showers:

A cold shower releases a surge of dopamine, resulting in elevated mood and improved focus for up to three hours.

Mindfulness or Meditation:

Incorporate mindfulness or meditation into your day, promoting relaxation and balance amidst the excitement of other neurochemicals.

Short Doses of Stress:

Stress can be beneficial in small doses, prompting your body to adapt and grow. Just ensure you have periods of recovery.

It’s essential to find the right balance in using these practices to optimize your energy. Too much of anything can lead to imbalance. Dave even suggests the addition of caffeine if it works for you, which can provide an extra boost.
