Tribe Call 8 – Putting It All Together & Introducing A New Breath-Work
In the latest 8 Decisions’ Tribe Call #8, Robert and Dave, the founders, had an insightful chat full of useful tips all about getting healthier and growing personally.
What is perfect morning routine? Doing stuff like meditation, breathwork, taking cold showers, and setting intentions for the day are part of it, in addition to doing ‘in-flight checks‘ all day long. That means things like moving around, getting out in nature, doing more breathwork, and staying mindful to keep your brain in its best shape.
Some of the practices recommended for optimizing energy include:
- Morning Routine: Start the day with a few minutes of sitting up straight and allowing thoughts to appear. Follow this with gentle movement flow exercises, such as the Five Tibetan Rites, for about five minutes. Incorporate breath work practices like Kapalabhati or the 10x your energy breath work for about 10 minutes.
- Breath Work: Engage in breath work practices like the 10x your energy breath work or the Dolphin breath technique throughout the day to calm the mind and increase oxygen flow in the body.
- Exercise: Incorporate high-intensity exercises like HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) for about five to ten minutes or go for a walk outside, connecting with nature and grounding yourself by having bare skin on the ground.
- Light Exposure: Get outside as early as possible in the morning to expose yourself to natural light, which helps increase energy levels and optimize the circadian rhythm.
- Neurohemical Balance: Ensure a good balance of neurochemicals in the body by reducing stress through methods like breath work, improving sleep quality, and engaging in stress-reducing activities.
- Fueling the Body: Optimize your energy throughout the day by fueling yourself with a balanced diet, including protein-rich foods in the morning and minimizing caffeine intake.
- Bedtime Routine: Create a bedtime routine that includes activities like reading fiction, meditating, practicing the 478 breathing technique, and ensuring a dark and tech-free environment to promote deep and restful sleep.
These practices, when combined, can help optimize energy levels and improve overall well-being.
Think about what your body needs all day long. Things like getting enough light, breathing well, keeping a happy balance of chemicals in your brain, eating right, and making sure your nervous system is doing its job well are factors to take into consideration. All these things help us plan our days and stay healthy and happy!
